Ritchie-Hallanan was originally founded in April 1984 when Sue Ritchie and Doris Hallanan left Hill & Co. to form their own brokerage firm.

In April 1993 Joseph Gartland Moore and David Papale acquired the firm as principals, both coming from McGuire Real Estate where they were consistent top producers dealing primarily with high end properties. In the age of agency “agglomeration”, they wanted to fill a void: a smaller more focused firm emphasizing personal service. Specialization and service that only a firm this size can offer.

Joe and David bring to the firm a wealth of experience, first hand knowledge of the neighborhoods, and strong managerial and technical skills. Under David and Joe’s management the firm has expanded and grown to become a recognizable force in the “high end” brokerage community. With the recent addition of John McInerney as Managing Broker our agents and clients have obtained an additional valuable resource with a very deep background in complicated real estate transactions, development and land use, and San Francisco’s maze of building related issues and regulations.

Our offices have recently relocated to 3701 Buchanan Street at the corner of Buchanan and North Point across from the Marina Safeway and just steps Fort Mason and the Marina Green. This visibility and accessibility enhances our presence in the marketplace and benefits our clients. Our offices are “state of the art” providing our clients up to the minute pertinent information and marketing reports. With all of our full time salespeople specializing exclusively in San Francisco we are able to offer the finest and most extensive, yet personal, marketing effort and knowledge available.

Our firm offers our clients all the conventional marketing tools available. We are members of the San Francisco Board of Realtors with access to the Multiple Listing Service and we regularly advertise properties in the Nob Hill Gazette, San Francisco Real Estate, and the Chronicle. Effective September 1995 we went on line with our own web page on the internet, offering world wide exposure of our listings. We are also members of Who’s Who of Luxury Real Estate which gives our properties exposure on what Forbes Magazine describes as the very best luxury real estate web site. Brochures, special placement advertising, and specialized mailings are easily accomplished within our system and network.
